Ganesh Magenthiran

Managing Partner

Ganesh Magenthiran (GM) is the Founder and Managing Partner of Messrs Ganesh Azhar & Associates. He began his legal career as a litigation practitioner at Messrs Hakem Arabi & Associates, where he completed his chambering period before continuing his tenure as a Legal Associate at the same firm.

During his six years as a Legal Associate, GM gained extensive experience in civil and criminal litigation, handling a wide range of cases across various stages of the judicial process. His experience spans trial advocacy in the Sessions and High Courts, as well as representing clients in appeals at the Court of Appeal.

GMs believes that this hands-on experience in both trial and appellate advocacy as well as his commitment to excellence laid the foundation for his promotion to Senior Associate, reflecting his growing expertise in litigation.

During his time as a Legal Associate, GM independently attended to, handled, and personally conducted numerous cases, particularly those involving contractual disputes. His expertise extended to matters arising under the Companies Act, including shareholder and director disputes, company restructuring, and issues surrounding corporate governance. GM also handled a variety of cases within the construction and as well as oil and gas industry, such as disputes over project delays, breach of contract, and payment issues, all of which required a keen understanding of both legal and industry-specific nuances.

Azhar Bin Ahmad

Partner

Called to the English Bar in 1990 by the Honorable Society of Lincoln’s Inn and to the Malaysian Bar in 1991. Azhar Bin Ahmad is a law graduate from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom, and holds a degree from University Technology MARA (UITM), Malaysia. With over 30 years of experience as a practicing lawyer in Malaysia, he has extensive expertise in the areas of Conveyancing, Corporate Law, and Litigation.

Azhar Bin Ahmad started legal practic at Messrs Cheng & Ariff from 1991 to 1994. From 1994 to 2013, he established his own law firm, Messrs Azhar & Wong. Between 2018 and 2024, Azhar Bin Ahmad worked at Messrs. Hakem Arabi & Associates, where he held the position of Senior Associate in the company. In 2025, he joined Messrs. Ganesh Azhar & Associates as a Partner.

Azhar Bin Ahmad has extensive experience in the banking sector, having worked with several leading institutions. His professional background includes cooperation with top level banks such as Bank Muamalat, MBSB Bank, BSN Bank, Bank Islam, Alliance Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, MBB, RHB Bank, CIMB Bank, PBB Bank, Affin Bank, MBF Bhd AM Bank and MIDF. He is also experienced in the field of developers. His expertise and contributions throughout the organization highlight his commitment and competence in the financial and development sectors.

Suronmani Krishnan

Principle Associate

Born in Kajang in 1993, Suronmani Krishnan obtained her LL.B (Hons) from University Utara Malaysia in 2017. She commenced her legal career as a pupil at Messrs Hakem Arabi & Associates and was admitted to the Malaysian Bar on 8 March 2019. She then continued as a Legal Associates at the same firm, gaining extensive experience in litigation and dispute resolution.

In January 2025, she joined Messrs Ganesh Azhar & Associates, where she continues to specialize in high-stakes litigation. Her practice covers civil and commercial disputes, fraud and conspiracy claims, construction and CIPPA matters, probate and estate litigation, judicial management and bankruptcy proceedings.

With a client-focused and results-driven approach, Suronmani is committed to providing clear, strategic, and practical legal solutions to navigate even the most complex legal challenges.

Noor Afikah Kahar Sham

Principle Associate

Noor Afikah holds her Bachelor of Law with Honours (LL.B) from the University Utara Malaysia (UUM). She was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in January 2023 after completing her pupillage under the tutelage of Ganesh Magenthiran.

Thereafter, she was retained as a Legal Associates which has great experience working on a broad range of legal matters including commercial, corporate and contract. With wide range of legal and practical experience, she utilizes by provide practical and value additive counsel in regularly appearing and assisting in court, arbitration and adjudication.

Though she represents individuals as well as companies of all sizes across an array of complex business disputes, including matter of complex business and commercial disputes, but she often engaged in tort litigation, and disputes in other areas of the law.

She also has significant experience preparing commercial and corporate agreements including confidentiality agreement, loan agreement, sales contract, joint venture agreement and shareholders agreement.

She additionally has experience in matrimonial and family law including divorce (Joint Divorce Petition or Single Divorce Petition), child custody and control, visitation, child support and spousal maintenance.

Alissa Sabri

Principle Associate

Born in Temerloh, Pahang and was raised in Kuala Lumpur, Alissa graduated from Queens University Belfast in the Northen Ireland with a Bachelor of Law (Hons.) in June 2019.

Upon graduation, she undergone the Certificate of Legal Practice (CLP) examination and upon passing she completed her pupillage in Hakem Arabi & Associates and completed it under the guidance of Mr Ganesh Magenthiran whereby she was exposed to many areas of law which includes General Litigation. She was thereafter called to the bar and admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in March 2023.

After completing her pupillage, she was then retained as an associate to attend to general litigation matters. During her employment, she focused on handling dispute resolution matters and was involved in arbitration and adjudication proceedings.

Apart from that she was also involved in other general litigation portfolios such as construction dispute.

Sonia Mohanacomar

Senior Associate

Sonia holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours (LL.B) from Multimedia University (MMU) and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in January 2022.

She began her legal career as a Legal Associate at Messrs Benjamin Dawson, where she primarily handled banking and general litigation portfolios. During this time, she gained valuable experience in dealing with a wide range of legal matters.

In 2023, Sonia joined Messrs Arnold Andrew & Co., where she specialized in personal injury claims, including those related to bodily injury and property damage. Her role involved not only representing a wide range of Insurance companies in the Country but also negotiating out of Court settlements and navigating complex legal frameworks.

During her tenure at Arnold Andrew, Sonia gained extensive experience in independently conducting trials and liaising with well-known Insurance companies in the country, which were her primary clients. She developed a strong understanding of the Insurance industry, effectively advocating for her clients’ interests while ensuring fair and just outcomes.

In March 2025, Sonia joined Messrs Ganesh Azhar & Associates, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a set of core qualities that enhance the firm’s legal team. She is known for her meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
